From the 3rd to the 5th of February, Student Film Festival (SFF) London 2012 will transform the capital into a hub of global filmmaking talent with an array of screenings, workshops and networking film-inspired parties. Encounters is delighted to be giving away 2 passes to the festival, so read on for more info.

With over 80 films screened over three days and some of their competition films selected for prestigious awards such as the Grierson (Caring for Calum - winner), BAFTA (Abuelas - nominated) and Academy Awards (The Road Home – long-listed) there is no saying what hidden treasures the international premieres will reveal.

Filmmakers will have their pick with a range of industry events from an interview with Music Video producer director Trudy Bellinger, a masterclass with BAFTA award-winning documentary film-maker Brian Woods and Emmy award winner journalist and film-maker Sorious Samura, a Pinewood Studios’ post-production seminar, a Rushes Soho short films class on monetizing and distribution class, and an Acting live workshop by TV and Film award-winning writer/director Nick Reed, to name just a few.

Finally, from the opening night Shortwave film competition launch and London Short Film Festival’s ‘Student Film Award’ screening and party to the closing night Wong Kar Wai themed gala at the Apollo Piccadilly with live improvised film scores, as well as Midnight Madness Quizz and drinks, the Friday night fusion film events celebration with the cinematic band Making Tracks and Gorilla Film Magazine’s wild wild games; there will be plenty of cause for merriment and opportunities to network, rekindle a film lover romance or have a walk on the wild side.

Competition

SFFLondon have kindly given Encounters 2 Festival passes to give away to one lucky person. To win all you have to do is answer this simple question:

Q: Which Graduation short animated film won the 2011 NAHEMI prize for Creative Filmmaking and recently picked up a BAFTA nomination?

To enter you must be available to attend the festival in London and please send your answers to info@encounters-festival.org.uk by 5pm on Wednesday 1 February.

(Please note that the competition is open to everyone and that Encounters will not be able to cover any travel expenses to London).

This competition is now closed.
