DepicT! Filmmakers in the News: Two Named UK Stars of Tomorrow

We are delighted that DepicT! filmmakers Joseph Pierce and Matthew Walker have been named as two of Screen International's UK Stars of Tomorrow.

Joseph's films Big on Love and State of Nature were shortlisted in 2006 and 2007 respectively, while Matthew's film Operator was last year's DepicT! winner.

It's easy to see why their talents were recognised - though quite different, both animators bring a distinctive style and voice to their work, and we can't wait to see what they do next.

DepicT! is Watershed’s original ultra-short film competition part of Encounters International Short Film Festival – which challenges filmmakers from across the globe to craft a compelling, imaginative idea and distill it into 90 seconds of cinematic originality – is now accepting entries for 2008 online at: depict.org. The competition is open to all filmmakers, from anywhere in the world.

Deadline for submissions for DepicT! 2008: Mon 8 Sept, 1700hrs (BST).
