19 - 26 March 2011
Encounters International Film Festival in collaboration with Calling the Shots and EUShorts Festival, sent four young UK filmmakers to participate in a European Audiovisual Workshop March 2011, for young creatives across Europe. Aged between 19 - 29, filmmakers, artists, photographers and designers were invited from five European countries to take part in a one-week workshop in Budapest, Hungary. The workshop offered an opportunity for cooperating in an environment encompassing different areas of the audiovisual artistry (film, photography, graphic design, new media), within international and interdisciplinary groups. The participating creatives from Bristol, selected by Calling the Shots, embarked on a series of unique workshops, practical experiments and roundtable discussions. They recorded and documented their experience through blogs, video and images, posted both on the Moving Districts and Encounters blogs.

has fostered a strong interest in documentary throughout her time
studying Media Practice at U.W.E. and working for free with local

Graduating in May 2010, she will now be staying in Bristol, building on
her existing experience and doing all she can to break into the
