Born in 1985 in Derby, Lomas studied English at the University of Nottingham and completed a MPhil. Degree in Playwriting at Birmingham University in 2008.
Her first play A Background Noise headlined the Momentum Young Writers Festival in 2005. Since then she has worked with the Royal Court and BBC writers room on ‘the 50’ and ‘24 degrees’ projects.  Most recently, she was selected for the BBC Radio Sparks residential and is now under commission to BBC Radio 3.
Her first full length play Wasteland was produced by New Perspectives in April 2009. She is one of the six writers selected for “Future Perfect 09”, the prestigious year-long writing attachment with Paines Plough Theatre Company and Channel 4.
The Island
will be her first commission from Nottingham Playhouse and her first work for children.
