Encounters Bristol International Film Festival and Arnolfini present a series of cinematic delights
Be inspired 30 - 31st July by a series of visual marvels and audio delights at the Arnolfini. Enjoy an assortment of entertainment set to stimulate the senses, including an animated movie made by and for children, a hand painted film, a spectacular live act and more.
Tate Movie Project
SAT 12pm, & SUN 1pm
Presenting a special screening of The Itch of the Golden Nit - a half-hour film showcasing the artwork of thousands of children, and featuring the voice talent of David Walliams, Miranda Hart, Harry Enfield and Catherine Tate.
Family Shorts
SAT 1.15pm, & SUN 1.30pm
Encounters Bristol International Film Festival present the silly and the serious in a collection of short films to tickle and inspire the imaginations of the whole family.
Unravel
SAT, 2.45pm
Unravel has been touring the country since 2010, inviting communities to paint directly onto 16mm film to create an epic 16 hour-long hand painted film, correlating the length of Britain. Watch Bristol’s contribution to the project; a rolling animated abstraction and a unique and personal portrait of the city.

A short film showcase from Bristol based filmmakers....gert lush films to bring out the luvver in all of uz.
ULK University of Local Knowledge
Between all activities on Saturday, and at 2.45pm on Sunday
Over 800 films have been produced celebrating the talents and skills that exist within the Knowle West and the surrounding areas. A selection of these films will be screened between all activities throughout Sturday, and at 2.45pm on Sunday.
Bristol Encounters 0117 Hour Film Challenge Screening
SAT 7.30pm at BBC Big Screen in Millenium Square
Last June, filmmakers from around the world were invited to create a short film in 117 hours, inspired by M Shed, the new museum of Bristol. Filmmakers were seen frantically filming in weird and wonderful locations across the city, for a chance to win a £1,000 prize. This is an exclusive screening of the final films. Presented by Bristol Film Office, Encounters Bristol International Film Festival, M Shed and supported by Bristol City Council.
