Welcome to Fresh Flix!

A young People’s Film Festival...

By young people, for young people. Organised by a group of 13-19 year olds, Fresh Flix aims to provide a new platform for young talent to showcase and celebrate their filmmaking achievements as well as inspire, enthuse and inform.

And the winners are....  

The first ever Fresh Flix Awards were presented in a jam packed award ceremony at Bristol's Watershed on the final day of Encounters Short Film Festival on Saturday 21 November. The Awards were presented by judges Noel Goodwin from the British Film Institute, Anne Threkold from the UK Film Council and filmmaker Geoffery Taylor. The audience award was presented by Anna and Lauren from the Fresh Flix steering group who came fresh with wounds created in the afternoons horror workshop.
Emerging Talent 12 years and Under Award
Awarded to Leeds Pals, an animated story of World War I, made by pupils at Kell Bank Primary School in Healey near Masham, North Yorkshire. The school group had travelled all the way from North Yorkshire to visit the festival and experience their film on the big screen. Kell Bank Primary School will creating their next animation entry with the help of an HD Web Cam and some Pro Animate animation software thanks to prize sponsor Kudlian Software
Emerging Talent 13 to 15 years Award
Awarded to a moving documentary about a young 14 year old girl who is the primary care giver to her 3 year old sister, Young Carers directed by The Rural Media Company. An HD Web Cam and some Pro Animate animation software thanks to prize sponsor Kudlian Software will be on it's way to the Rural Media Company.
Emerging Talent 16-19 years Award
Was given to Steal by Misha Vertkin from Devon, which was described as a “brave, compelling film, which was absolutely brilliant!” Misha takes home an HD Web Cam and some Pro Animate animation software thanks to prize sponsor Kudlian Software

Fresh Flix Audience Award
Was also given to Leeds Pals made by Kell Bank Primary School in Healey near Masham, North Yorkshire who took back to the school a FLIP Video Camera.
