BAFTA

BAFTA focuses attention on the highest achievements of films shown in the UK each year in order to motivate and inspire those who make them, and to educate and develop the taste of those who watch them.

Bristol Media is one of the biggest creative networks in the UK. We are an industry led organisation, whose primary role is to deliver projects, events and opportunties for our 500 strong paying membership (January 2011).

Calling the Shots

Calling The Shots is an award-winning production company based in Bristol, UK. Established in 1998, CTS delivers broadcast, digital video and multiplatform projects for TV, corporate clients and education providers. CTS have a strong track record in talent development, documentary and factual programmes and recent clients include ITV West, Open University, UK Film Council and Channel 4.

Cartoon d'Or

CARTOON is an international non-profit association based in Brussels. CARTOON’s remit is to support the European animation industry and for more than 20 years, it has received financial support from the MEDIA Programme of the European Union to run its activities.

Cartoon Saloon

Cartoon Saloon is an Irish Animation Studio based in Kilkenny. It was recently nominated for an Academy Award (R) for Best Animated Feature film. It began as an informal partnership between a group of animators brought together by Paul Young and Tomm Moore in 1999. Cartoon Saloon has since grown into a multi-award winning animation and illustration design studio. The studio works with many diverse, international Clients such as Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network.

Cube Microplex

The Cube is a microplex cinema and arts venue in Central Bristol, UK. It was formed in 1998 by a small group of artists who ran underground mobile cinema events in Bristol under the name Club Rhombus. The venue until that point in time had been an industrial building, an am-dram theatre, an avant garde 70's art centre, an extension of the Chinese Overseas Association and a second run family cinema. All these ghosts hang on in there.

DepicT!

DepicT! challenges filmmakers on any budget from anywhere in the world to show their stuff in just a minute and a half. We’re delighted to announce that after receiving a record number of entries (over 500 from more than 30 countries!), the shortlisted films for DepicT! ‘11 are now all available for your viewing pleasure.

Directors UK

Nick Sherard, Crane against smoke at night Directors UK, formerly DPRS, was launched in June 2008 as the single voice for film and television directors in the UK. The organisation is both a collecting society for the distribution of secondary rights payments to directors, and the campaigning body seeking to protect and enhance the creative, economic and contractual rights of directors in the UK. As Directors UK we also aim to create a community in which British directors can meet, discuss and exchange ideas.

Evans Audio, previously known as Sonix Audio, is a leading supplier for audio solutions and technical support for large scale projects in theatre, corporate, broadcast and live music throughout the UK & Europe.

Festival of Ideas

Established in 2005, the Bristol Festival of Ideas emerged out of Bristol’s bid to be Capital of Culture in 2008. Although this was not successful in terms of winning the bid, the partners behind the project made the commitment to deliver as much of the programme as possible. By 2008 much of the programme had been delivered.

Wonky Films

Here at WONKY we work as a collective of creatives including illustrators, animators, musicians and writers to create content across a variety of media. Our passion is character animation and everyone at WONKY shares the same sense of humour that brings our characters to life. By mixing everything from CG and 2D animation to stop motion and pixillation we are able to create a bespoke look and feel for each project. Working across television, online and mobile, we have designed characters and created films for the likes of the BBC, adidas, Nokia, Capital One, COI, UN, British Council and the British Heart Foundation.
