UWE opens flash new animation wing

Special guest and triple Oscar® winning animator and previous Encounters special guest, Richard Williams, helped to celebrate the launch of the brand new animation facility.

The evening was punctuated with recent work by current students of the Bristol School of Animation and an opportunity to have a peek at the new facilities on offer to students. Encounters was impressed and looks forward to seeing some great results from the facilities in this year's submissions.
UWE students stop motion set up 
Encounters sponsor the University of the West of England has made a significant recent investment in state of the art kit from Escape Studios has meant that UWE can now offer graduates industry standard equipment in computer aided animation of the type favoured by Pixar as well as more traditional stop frame animation, famously used by Aardman in the Wallace and Gromit films.
