The Haiti Kids Kino Project

Haiti Kids Kino Project

Encounters is proud to be involved with The Haiti Kids Kino Project (HKKP) organised by the Cube Cinema, Bristol. HKKP is a micro-humanitarian goodwill project sending volunteers to Haiti to set up a sustainable Cinema and create a community in which children in the UK and Haiti, along with cube volunteers, explore art together. Share the experience of cinema and storytelling; create friendships whilst offering temporary childcare facilities.
Two HKKP volunteers, Marko and Dave are now in Haiti with great success having projected films to audiences ranging from 300 – 500 people every evening. French language films are going down great and one of the particular highlights was the whole audience singing and clapping along to Vic Reeves singing the theme to Shaun the Sheep.

The project aims to run for one year – but will only do so with the support from the public. All donations of time, money or ideas are welcome. For further information email: haitikidskino@cubecinema.com  or Visit http://nanoplex.cubecinema.com/haiti_kids_kino.php
