In this age of powerful low cost computer technology, digital visual effects are no longer the exclusive preserve of Hollywood blockbusters, but are increasingly being used on productions at all budget levels. But incorporating effects into a production requires experience and careful planning if expensive mistakes are to be avoided, and new technologies are frequently changing the creative possibilities.

Speaker: Nicolas Chaudeurge (editor: Wasp, Red Road, My Enemy’s Enemy)
Editing is a mixed bag : half storytelling and half  serving people. It is also a process that changes with every project and every  director and is so collaborative that it is impossible to judge the input of the editor when viewing a film. Based on his experiences on short films and clips of his work, Nicolas will try and define the role of the editor in the creative process  and talk about the passage from shorts to longer forms.
