The 14th edition of the Encounters Short Film Festival takes place in the wonderful city of Bristol, UK from 18th - 23rd November and once again we will be screening the very very best short films from around the universe!

Encounters offers an important platform for both new and established filmmakers to showcase their work and is the place to be inspired, to talk technology, share ideas and make new connections.  6 days of screenings, special events, workshops and masterclasses and those all important networking opportunities: the parties!

BAGPUSSS AND FRIENDS

Do you remember Bagpuss, the Clangers or Noggin the Nog? Following the success of last summer's event Encounters are hosting an afternoon with Phill Jupitus and Barry Purves on Sunday 27th July in Watershed. The show will include montages, onstage chats and a complete episode of either Bagpuss, Clangers or Noggin the Nog voted on by the audience. (More info to be revealed closer to the event). Picking The Winners!

Last year we had 1750 Film entries to go through. Our pre-selection process, obviously works well as we managed to identify 3 out of the 5 live action shorts which were nominated for the Baftas, including the winner. We also screened the mutli award winning Pearce Sisters. lets hope we do as well in 2008.
